About SIM Card Connectors
SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) is a small smart card (25mm x 15mm x 0.76mm) designed to store subscribers identity, security, authentication and personal information for use in a mobile network terminal, such as a mobile phone, a portable GSM modem, or other access control terminals., e.g. an EPOS (Point of Sale) or a Satellite Receiver terminal. GCT currently provides 6 types of SIM card connectors. All of them are compatible with plug-in SIM cards that conforms to the GSM 11.11 standards.
Allows plugging of two SIM cards into one connector, saving you PCB space and cutting the cost of PCB placement.
SIM6050 enables applications using two GSM accounts in one device. For example, In the vehicle tracking market the connector allows the option of switching between mobile networks when crossing country borders or when a alternative network offers a price or signal quality advantage. In personal handheld applications the connector permits use of 'work' and 'personal' accounts.
With 8 contacts and a 3.00mm profile height the SIM6050 is available in tape-and-reel packaging for volume manufacturing and withstands IR reflow at temperatures up to 260°C.
