Why FFC connectors?
FFC connectors vs. traditional 'two piece' male and female IDC and discrete wire cable to board systems have several advantages including a smaller PCB package size, low height profile, light weight, one piece nature means low cost and they have fewer assembly actions.

FFC is also favored in applications where moving parts mean the flexibility of FFC wins over discrete cable/IDC, such as scanners and photocopiers.
Connector Types

Zero Insertion Force (ZIF)

  • During insertion, no force is exerted on the cable contacts by the connector contacts.
  • Has a locking actuator to hold FFC/FPC in place.
  • Useful in applications with shock and higher vibration (E.G. handheld).

Flat Flexible Cable (FFC)

Flat Flexible Cable FFC

0.5mm and 1.00mm pitch FFC cable compliments FFC connector range. Available in 8 to 80 conductors (0.5mm pitch) and 4-50 conductors in 1.00mm pitch with a variety of thickness options. The Flat Flex cable is available in A type - Contacts same side or D Type – Contacts opposite sides, whichever your design requires.
Standard cable is suitable for 80°C and 60 volts.
Lengths start from 30mm up to 1meter plus, cables are made to order and length is specifiable on the FFC cable drawing.

Special versions with sheilding and for direct PCB soldering are available on request.
